2001 - Memphis, TN
Flecton returns to his 1997 home and records several tracks with members of the Grifters. While these sessions yield seven tracks, Flecton feels no desire to properly release them, instead they find their way onto CD-Rs and become known around Ottawa as the "Memphis EP."

2004 - Chicago, IL
Between 2001 and 2003 Flecton plays sporadic gigs in an around Ontario and Quebec. During this time, Flecton and members of Califone discuss a mutual desire to collaborate musically. In September of 2003, three days are booked at 4Deuces Recording Studio in Chicago. These sessions culminate in five more tracks and Flecton returns to Ottawa.

Once back home, Flecton decides both sessions together will make for a strong release and he includes one live cut from an Ottawa show to tie it all together.

Now it’s 2005, and Never Took a Wife has finally come to life. The product of recordings from three different cities and five years of living is yours to enjoy! Expect a drop-in from Flecton in your city very soon…
